Parent Teacher Association

We are the Swanson Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA). We are a local PTA organized under the authority of the Colorado PTA, which is in turn a branch of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers (National PTA).

The Swanson PTA is a 501c(3), not-for-profit organization made up of volunteers who support Swanson Elementary School and its community. The purposes of our PTA are:

• To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, places of worship and throughout the community
• To raise the standards of home life;
• To advocate for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare, and safety of children and youth;
• To promote the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education of children and youth;
• To engage the public in united efforts to secure the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of all children and youth; and
• To advocate for fiscal responsibility regarding public tax dollars in public education funding.

The Swanson PTA is made up of volunteer family members, teachers, faculty, and concerned community members. We would love to have you join us and bring your opinions, insights, expertise, and caring to the work we are trying to do this year. All people and all levels of engagement are welcome.

We welcome any level of participation, however, to be an official voting member of the Swanson PTA you must pay annual dues of $10. Those can be paid at our "Store", or through a check provided to one of the PTA officers.
